How I Receive Embodied Soul Messages
I am wired for pattern recognition and symmetry. Whether it's pattern in nature mimicking the Fibonacci Sequence, the asymmetry I may notice on a body on a massage table, the repeating pattern of wallpaper or a crookedly hung piece of art on the wall, my mind notices in a flash. I didn't start thinking about this outload until I started playing Mahjong. I am not a game person, but I like Mahjong for the quick pattern recognition.
I mostly listen to spa music in my car and even at home, but I listen to most podcasts on 2.0x speed. My mind intakes, decodes and organizes information quickly. When audio is delivered at a slower, standard pace in a learning environment, my brain gets bored or agitated. It's not challenging enough. So, doubling the speed matches my natural processing tempo.
I didn't understand this processing in my 20s when a friend would call and I'd rush to skip the pleasantries: "Hello? Please state your purpose." Because I see and hear patterns faster, I tend to skip filler, redundancy or off-topic meandering. At 2.0x speed, verbal fluff collapses, leaving me with the core geometry of the speaker's thought. In this way, I extract structure more efficiently. Am I rushing? I'm calibrating.
Sometimes, this habit can also mirror subtle nervous system activity. It establishes a high alert baseline, desire to stay ahead of the content (I don't like surprises, I want to know) and a mild discomfort with spaciousness or pause.
My fast cognition and sensory precision are the mechanics that make subtle perception possible. My empathy and nervous system regulation are the governors that keep it clear. Together, they allow me to communicate what others feel without being overwhelmed by it. Anchored in service, breath and consent, these gifts have matured naturally into the quiet art of understanding people deeply.
I use the gong in Embodied Soul Messages because it quiets your thoughts, relaxes your nervous system and pauses the fluff to get to the core of what your soul wants you to know.
